Big Reds to open season at MC
PARKERSBURG – Although an official agreement and contract have not been inked just yet, the Parkersburg High School football team will use Don Drumm Stadium in Marietta for its home and season opener this year.
The Big Reds, who have ongoing construction at Stadium Field, will take on the Warren Warriors as the host team at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, according to Lori Lowers, the athletics director at PHS.
“Right now, it’s a verbal agreement and we’re drawing up the contract. There is a fee that will be involved,” Lowers said.
Lowers added the Big Reds hope to play at home during the fourth week of the season, which is the next time PHS is slated to play at Stadium Field.
The Marietta College women’s basketball team will be handling the concessions, stated Lowers.
