Patterson, McKendree in finals

LINCOLN, Neb. -Parkersburg South graduate Ryan Patterson and his McKendree University bowling teammates are one match away from winning the 2013 United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Championship.

The Bearcats punched their ticket to today’s national title match by twice defeating Fresno State University on Friday, avenging a loss to the Bulldogs earlier in the day.

McKendree will meet Robert Morris University of Pittsburgh at 5 p.m. today. It marks just the second time in McEndree history the Bearcats have reached the national title match. McKendree is seeking its first national title.

Patterson, a freshman, is one of eight bowlers representing McKendree in the Baker alternate shot format.
