BACF Basketball Classic girls rosters announced

The girls rosters have been announced for the 12th annual Battle Against Cystic Fibrosis Ohio vs. West Virginia Basketball Classic on Friday, April 5, at Parkersburg South’s Rod Oldham Athletic Center. The girls game will tip off at 5:30 p.m. with the boys game following at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The Ohio girls will be coached by River’s Rick Isaly and assisted by Fort Frye’s Dan Liedtke.

Fort Frye’s Deidra Combs has been selected as the team captain. Combs, a Fairmont State recruit, was an All-Ohio honoree and District 12 Player of the Year, being invited to play in the Ohio North-South game on Sunday, April 21.

Other members of the Ohio BACF girls squad are Laken Camino (Frontier), Kaitlyn Cozzens (Marietta), Amy Fleming (Warren), Micayla Hupp (Fort Frye), Morgan Liedtke (Fort Frye), Cassidy McCullough (River), Alicia Murphy (Ironton), Jordann Rauch (Warren), Ariel Schweickart (Ironton), Kayla Swiger (Fairland), Mackenzie Ullman (Warren), Alexis Walsh (Marietta) and Emile Weaver (River).

The West Virginia BACF girls squad will be coached by Paden City’s Kelly Sine and assisted by Herbert Hoover’s Greg Ullman.

St. Marys’ Audra Clark, the LKC Player of the Year and a W.Va. Class A first-team all-state honoree, will be the team captain. Clark has committed to play basketball at Rio Grande next season.

Other members of the West Virginia squad include Melonna Carmichael (Ravenswood), Brooke Cieslewski (Williamstown), Logan Cosper (Paden City), Carley Ellison (Williamstown), Leah Hughes (Parkersburg Catholic), Dani Moore (St. Marys), Hannah Murray (Ravenswood), Rachel Nill (Parkersburg Catholic), Maddie Roedersheimer (Parkersburg Catholic), Kenzie Smith (Williamstown), Tristin Toman (Ritchie County), Kennedy Walker (Parkersburg), Imani Ward (Parkersburg) and Miranda Workman (Parkersburg South).

The boys slam-dunk contest and 3-point shootout will take place at halftime of the girls game, while the girls 3-point shootout and free throw-shooting contest will take place at halftime of the boys game.

There will be no advance sale of tickets for the games. All tickets at the door will be $5.
