There are many people I respect on here, so it seems very odd to me when they go so off base with critiques on their own writings.
And no group of loyal Americans would permit that symbol of treason to be flown at a group gathering, whether that gathering be public or private!!!
I don’t oppose Johnson’s pardon; I think it facilitated the healing process.
I also think those who, even today, stick that flag in the faces of loyal Americans are preventing the completion of the healing process.
Those who wave the Confederate flag offend loyal Americans as deeply as a Muslim would offend loyal Americans by standing in front of the World Trade Center Memorial and holding up a sign proclaiming, “Hooray for the jihadists who flew planes into these buildings.”
Those who display the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Va. (commonly called the Confederate flag) are displaying solidarity and sympathy with probably of the most treasonous people in our history.
Those who originally carried that flag made war against the United States, killing over 100,000 United States servicemen, and were only saved from prosecution by the sweeping pardon of a loyal American from the South--Andrew Johnson--who refused to join in their treasonous deeds.
Anyone who displays a flag that was used to rally those who killed over 100,000 U.S. servicemen is no loyal American!!!
No problem...I have seen many different spelling of my name: Kendal, Kendell, Kendle..etc
You know...I find all this interesting. Not for the content because most of what you wrote is drivel. But I do believe you implied you were not going to comment here on this again. Guess you are a bit of a hypocrite in that regard. No doubt it was bugging you not to get the last word in.
"So you wrote the wrong letter to the wrong paper for nothing.."
As explained before yet you missed it again...I did write to the N&S and clicked on the Times option. So no, you are wrong Fred. I did write to the correct paper but only the Times picked it up.
But it reached the only person it was mainly meant to reach anyway...so mission accomplished.
"it was over my use of the term "neoConfederate" to describe some of the tea-party crazies."
There is the problem..."some" tends to become "all" when the arguments start to fly. Certain foolish people like to take a negative and attempt to paint a whole movement with that name.
Some Democrats are racist but if pointing out that has nothing to do with the debate in question...then it is a ad hominem.
So unless "neo-confederate" has to do a topic of people actually trying to break away from the union...it to is a ad hominem.
"For example, right-wing-nuts like to label unemployed persons or persons receiving some form of public-assistance as "too lazy to work"."
And those people are wrong for doing that. I've been having a conversation with others on here about this very topic.
But as for standards, I don't see any major differences between the parties in this case. I think it was Maher (might be wrong on that) that basically said that short of some public pandering to their bases...politicians are just that....politicians and have no real differences between them. They give to those that support them and ignore those that don't.
"You still haven't explained why you called the President a "pig""
Actually I have..multiple times but some left leaning ideologues are exactly like right leaning ones and only see what they want to see.
Whether it's my use of Obama's "squealers" or the reference to Benjamin the donkey...I have explained it. I suggest you try something new and read before you comment. My responses are here and at the Times if you are actually interested in understanding anything.
"Yes the extremists in the House have a Constitutional right to try.."
Thank you. So comparing them to the villains in Animal Farm was incorrect because unlike the pigs in the story...Congress didn't change the rules at all but went by them.
I am so glad you finally came around to seeing things like a rational and intelligent person we know that you can be at times.
"but the fight over "Obamacare" WAS a big part of the 2012 campaign."
I agree that it is a part but not a big part. Poor Fred ignores all the polls that ranks economy and other issues above Health Care in the last election. He seems to worry more about what other people will see in the paper.
"Mr. Kendall DID call the President a "pig" for no good reason!"
That is your factless left leaning opinion which you are more than welcome to. I am sorry that the only person allowed to critique the President are Democrats. I think you'll be able to live with it though.
"Some folks in Marietta think that all the folks in Walker voted for Jefferson Davis in the last election!"
Then those special people are fools. Do you hang out with the fools of Marietta Fred?
"I'll admit that when it comes to the topic here.."
Whatever you need to tell yourself so you can sleep easier at night Fred, you go right ahead and do it.
"..to the WRONG paper!"
Actually I didn't. I sent it to the N&S and click on the option to also include it to the Times.
Lol, you are very delusional if you think the majority of the readers at the Times pays attention to the LTTE from day to day and week to week.
Actually the important part of the letter (the part that isn't about you) will make sense to them. Obama was not voted in because of the public view on Obamacare. That is a fact.
And if you have the need to write another letter to cover your ego...feel free to. Though by your own words you have basically said they won't know what the letter is about. So just have the balls to admit that any letter you write to the Times on this subject is just for ego reasons.
"Extremists in the House of Representatives have tried 42 times to change a law that has been passed and upheld by the Supreme Court."
Tried in 42 legal ways yes? Or have they completely trashed the Constitution in some manner you have failed to explain?
I am sorry Fred but you are still wrong.
"YOU did indeed call the President a "pig" in your October 13 letter."
Yep, in reference to Animal Farm. You need to accept that fact.
"about your mental stability"
Nice ad hominem Fred.
The only reason the deficit dropped was monetary manipulation by the Administration to delay borrowing or raising the debt limit till the new fiscal year. They borrowed over $300,000,000,000 the very first day they were allowed. Are you really that easily fooled or are you just a jock strap supporting the nuts in the White House?
Why did Obama & Obamanites take to the WH with such a vendetta to see to it that 15% of the American public was retrofitted because of some shortcoming (heath care insurance coverage), which will ultimately change the coverage of the other 85%?
What is that last example, you can cite, for the fanaticism for such an immediate imperative to cover ANY NEED that such a minority of the citizens may have been suffering?
All things being considered, you don't think that there are yet to be revealed progressive designs on people control waiting to spring forth from DemoCare?
"They forget that "Obamacare" was all Republicans wanted to talk about during the 2012 campaign"
Perhaps that is what they wanted to talk about but the majority of those in the middle wanted to discuss other things.
