There are many people I respect on here, so it seems very odd to me when they go so off base with critiques on their own writings.
What Executive Orders do you have a problem with Ithink? Most of his 169 current Executive Orders seem harmless enough.
"One’s actions reveal one’s faith."
With that I ultimately agree. My critique was mostly aimed at the guy who tried to connect Obama telling lies to Islamic teaching, even though his lies do not seem to have any religious preference.
I even point out in my letter that his criticism of Obamacare is good because there are actually facts to back up that position.
But in the end, Obama is Christian. Is he a good Christian? That's up to everyone else to figure out for themselves. Then they can try and tell us who is a good scotsman.
I really don't worry about obama's faith or lack of it. I worry about his actions and their devastating effect on our country. Three more years of his insane ex. orders will be the most damaging period in the history of our country
New lies are uncovered regulary and show he was elected through deceit. Now he is carrying out his promise to transform our country. Uugh!!
He has shown more affection for wicked muslim leaders than for our traditional allies. History was ignored by all who voted for him. All they cared about was free goodies paid for by us.
One’s actions reveal one’s faith. One can declare faith over and over, but if his or her actions and words don’t reflect that faith, we’re free to conclude that person lacks sufficient faith.
However, I refuse to conclude that someone has no faith. We all sometimes fail to match our deeds and words to our faith. That includes me. I’m certainly not without sin, so I shouldn’t cast stones.
In the end, God will decide who has enough faith to enter God’s Kingdom.
Declarations of Faith are sometimes false.
Just as the Jew could once incite the mob of Jerusalem against Christ, so today he must succeed in inciting folk who have been duped into madness to attack those who, God's truth! seek to deal with this people in utter honesty and sincerity. -Adolf Hitler, in Munich, 28 July 1922
Tired, if you don't think a person saying they are a peticular faith isn't enough...then you are welcome to that position. As you have said, we have hit a wall on this topic.
Your stance is reasonable, Tiredofit.
But I can say the same thing about just about EVERY politician.
I am not saying he is NOT a follower of Christ of Satan or a three toed sloth, I just don't see much evidence in the way he conducts himself but it is NOT for me to judge anyone.
Kendall, we have hit the wall on this. I think you get my point but wont admit it but perhaps I am wrong. I have been so before.
So other than his words, and the fact that he went to a Black Theology church that he has fully rejected, and that he lies repeatedly, his pandering to Christian is enough for you to call him a FOLLOWER OF CHRIST.
“I don't think Obama is a person of any faith whatsoever, as most politicians.”
There’s truth in that statement. I would qualify it in a couple of ways.
1. I don’t think politicians differ much from the general population.
2. I wouldn’t say they have no faith; I would say they have not enough faith. Those who have faith in Jesus will not become angry when they Bible is quoted. They will adjust their attitudes and behavior to conform to that word because they believe God knows more than they do.
"To be a follower of Jesus Christ would seem to inhibit someone from lying don't you agree"
Who says that he isn't inhibited from lying? Perhaps if he wasn't a Christian he would lie so much more.
And no, he did not talk about his Muslim faith. He said the words "my muslim faith" which was a slip of the tongue when one would read the entire trascript. Now if he talked about his Muslim faith, I am sure certain issues like the five pillars, Mecca and Mohammed might have came up but they didn't.
Or could it be that like all politicians, he will say whatever he has to to get the outcome he desires
To be a follower of Jesus Christ would seem to inhibit someone from lying don't you agree>
I agree that there is no evidence that his lies came from any book
Well to be fair, he did talk about his muslim faith. So I guess if words are all that matter, its a fair thing to say
I don't know where any of his impulses to lie originate from. But there is no evidence that any of his lying came from a belief in the Koran.
"You should not have made such a declarative statement in your LTE"
I have no problem with making a declaritive statement about a person's faith when they have made their own declaritive statement about it.
