There are many people I respect on here, so it seems very odd to me when they go so off base with critiques on their own writings.
@Ithink- "Oneill has called conservatives every bad name imaginable."
But my question was, has Fred basically called anyone the son of the devil. Maybe he has but I haven't seen it.
"I guess when you are a Maher fan"
Actually I am but not for all the various ways he explains himself. I personally think he goes too far but he has also praised the Republican party before and defended Israel in regards to protecting their borders.
@Tired, quoting the letter in question, "Where do these lies come from? John 8:44 reads, "You are of your father the devil.for he is a liar and the father of it.""
Yeah..still sounds like he is basically calling him the son of the devil due to his lies but you go with what you think he means.
Oneill has called conservatives every bad name imaginable. His letters are disgusting. I guess when you are a Maher fan, you become immune to bad behavior unless it comes from a conservative.
I may be wrong but I don't recall Fred calling Bush or any conservative President the son of the devil.
@Ithink- nothing wrong to be critical about the President when he does indeed lie. However, when one start calling the guy the son of the devil and imply he lies on everything...then one tends to look like a looney.
@R1KRA8- normally I would when one goes so for off into the crazy category but I alreayd sent in enough letters this past month. Maybe someone else will.
Why shouldn't he call obama a liar? Facts are facts. Meghan Kelly is telling some facts right now.
So in his letter he calls Obama a liar, son of the devil and basically a Muslim when he says, "Obama's other source of lying expertise comes from the Koran.."
Talking about going off the rails. I love the part where he says, "Do you feel safe giving your private information (Social Security and bank account numbers)"
I believe that the govt would have access to the SSN that they issued to a person. Oy vey the fringe people are nuts.
Good grief, did any of you read "Wake up or we’re all doomed" letter from Eric R. Brant this past weekend?
He has reason to be critical of Obama for the health care stuff but to say the following:
"has been exposed again for the liar he is, and always has been."
"along with the rest of the Democrats invented this evil"
"the wicked witch Pelosi cackling"
"Where do these lies come from? John 8:44 reads, "You are of your father the devil.for he is a liar and the father of it."
The KGB? You mean the Soviet espionage agency organized in 1954, the same year the Senate finally shut McCarthy up? The KGB didn’t even exist in 1950 when McCarthy began his accusations.
Perhaps you mean the earlier NKVD secret police, headed by the ruthless killer Laventry Beria to do Stalin’s executions and imprisonments.
How can anyone trust the KGB or the NKVD? Do you think the KGB was above altering their files to make themselves look more effective?
Old Joe was right, you know. KGB and Chinese spy files proved that.
@Fred- "Good letter overall, but Ted Cruz and Michele Bachmann "brave"?"
Missed your comment the other day. Thanks. But yeah..I consider them brave as any public servant is. It's not easy in that line of work.
It is not greed when people work hard and acquire wealth or whatever they own.
It IS greed to take what someone else owns and worked for. Obama style greed and corruption.
I grew up dirt poor. It didn't hurt me a bit. In fact, it was good for me. I had a soup bean sandwich for lunch at school. These days that would make the nightly news and the bleeding hearts would cry buckets of tears.
Sandra Fluke ,et al, are disgusting to me. I never had a free sandwich, and would have refused it. America is too great to allow obama to be greedy with our money.
"I think you said we Americans are a greedy bunch. I resent that"
You take generalizations too personally. We are a capitalistic society...greed is part of the equation.
"Also you say we don't know the real history of our country."
Many Americans turn a blind eye to what we have done to have our nation. This is a truth.
"It was and is the best place on earth."
It is a great place to live...I do not argue with that.
I think you said we Americans are a greedy bunch. I resent that
Also you say we don't know the real history of our country. Garbage. Speak for yourself. It was not perfect, but it was so much better than anywhere else that poor souls all over the world chose to come here. You sound like you allowed too many nuttty college professors brainwash you.
It does not need to be sugar coated, as you said. It was and is the best place on earth.
"Kendall, you have been down on the goodness of the American people, lately, and our early history. And your sense of reality is sick."
I am a realist. But humor us and tell me how I have been down on the American people. How have I been unfair? And it's not my sense of reality that is sick...merely that reality is sick.
“There is a depressing tendency in modern political life to disparage those who disagree with you as either stupid or evil.”—Ted Cruz, as quoted in today’s Boston Globe.
Poor, brave Obama. He celebrated his awful place in life yesterday with his 150th round of golf. No worries about America or the Philippines. And when he swaggers out to Air Force 1, I hurt for him.
Kendall, you have been down on the goodness of the American people, lately, and our early history. And your sense of reality is sick.
Only a self-confident and brave individual would subject himself to the abuse that bullies have hurled at President Obama. I use the word “bully” here because bullies don’t need a valid reason to attack. The birther movement is an example of bullying.
Joe Manchin was brave in taking on the NRA.
And Michele Bachmann and Ted Cruz certainly don't lack cheek.
Bachmann seems unafraid to repeat any lie, no matter how egregious and no matter how often factcheckers expose her lies. Or is she not a brave person, but a pathological liar?
Cruz seems unafraid to place any thought into a rigid ideological framework, no matter how untried that ideology may be. Or is he not a brave person, but a reckless nihilist?
As far as the effects of Obamacare had on me personally, I still have my insurance and the only real changes is that deductibles have went up quite high. This might not be so bad if I was an older individual with very expensive procedures just around the corner but being of the 30 something age...barring something unexpected, I'll never get my deductible paid off before year's end and the insurance won't be paying much.
