Thankfully, the anti-science propaganda campaign surrounding man-made climate change seems to have lost some of its effect.

Are you seeing storm clouds on the horizon? Two recent studies suggest that the latest anti-science campaign is following its forerunners--the propaganda campaigns attempting to refute science that tobacco causes cancer, that CFC's caused the hole in the ozone layer, and so on—into oblivion. Global warming denial seems to have climbed to a peak in 2010, and global warming acceptance is now climbing. This bodes well for rational public policy.

You'll probably ignore it for no good reason but here: w w w.epa.gov/climatechange/science/indicators/oceans/sea-surface-temp.h tm l

if you do dismiss it, please have the guts to offer up evidence that supports your conclusion at least.

"Sorry Kendall just isn't so."

Sorry Tired, it is. Took care of that argument.

"yet the temps have levelled off"

This leveling off...is the average higher than it was 25 years ago? Yes or no?

"and are actually cooling in many areas."

A typical failure on your part. The planet hasn't cooled on the avergae so you have to resort to saying (without evidence) that other places have cooled.

Try again when you have some evidence that the planet (you do understand what "global" in global warming means right?) has cooled on the average.

" the warming would be continuing just as co2 has continued"

It has, you don't pay attention to the oceanic temps do you?

" carbon in any form cannot be scientifically linked to global warming"

Actually it has, you just won't accept it. Please review the dozens of previous pages if you want the evidence. Though you won't or you'll lie about doing it.

Let's clear out Tired's silly argument about giving up everything that involves fossil fuels is a logical step to take.

His argument is thus; If one says that carbon is the cause for global warming, they should therefor quit using anything that involves carbon.

That would be like saying, If one believes that guns are the cause for shootings, then they should get rid of all their guns.

Pure foolishness because Tired ignores common sense. No one on here has ever implied that we should (as a species) give up the use of fossil fuels and such, only that we should use them better. Just like it would be dumb to get rid of all guns to prevent shootings, you teach people to use weapons responsibly.

"Be part of the solution, lead by example."

I am...I'm trying to weed out ignorance by asking you questions.

What you seem to fail to grasp is that no one is planning on uprooting our entire society if we do not need to. It took a long time for the Earth to get where it is in the case of global warming. It will take a long time to fix it, so any suggestions to knee jerk action like you imply is foolish.

Only those on the defensive make grand leaps like you have done Tired. Try to think before responding next time. Heck, what I would like to see is you to try and respond to any questions that I have asked of you. It's fun to see you try and dodge them. You look more and more like Obama everyday.

Let's see...you focus a lot on a place with little children.

You pull off another ad hominem attack and you still have answered no questions directed to you.

Posted 204 days ago.

Kendall78

Ignoring your fascination with places where little kids are, so it sounds like you admit that CO2 is bad. Otherwise, why would you care to try such a inept debate strategy?

Ignoring your fascination with places where little kids are, I have stated facts. You are more than welcome to show how I am incorrect in my statements.

Left or Right, some things should not be tolerated...in this case, your ignorance.

In your four posts this morning, you have offered nothing to counter any of the science that has been offered on here. You write it off as faith while you stick your head in the sand.

Is it faith that the Earth's average temp is higher than it was 100 years ago? Is it faith that it's average is higher than 25 years ago?

Is it faith that we have put more carbon in the atmosphere than the natural carbon cycle can handle?

Sure climate changes without man's involvement but you hope beyond rational hope that man cannot effect it at any level at all.

"What I said was there is no proof that co2.is causing anything but healthy plant growth but not climate change or global warming whatever term they are using today."

You said that incorrectly. What you should have said is that you would accept no proof that CO2 causes anything but healthy plant growth.

You have never addressed the Earth's carbon cycle and what it means when the dominant species throws more carbon out into the atmosphere than the carbon cycle can handle.

You have never offered any viable option to why the the planet is getting warmer.

You have never gave a reason why the planet is warmer than it was20-40 years ago.

I could if I wanted to get banned from posting on here point out something that blows a hole right in this notion of God the supreme creator.

Christians like to point out the complexity of various things like the eye in showing that a guiding hand had to be present in making something so complex.

Ok! If a person believes that then I got a question for them that points out something that for all intents and purposes looks like God has played a huge joke on us.

But it would be considered highly offensive if I would point that out.

Its an interesting dichotomy between something being seen as sacred but yet lying within that is something shockingly profane.

Its like an artist who's beautiful paintings hide within them atrocious images that makes one question the sanity of the painter.

So Tiredofit says there is no evidence to support climate change in his eyes.

There is no evidence to support the existence of God but yet be believes in that?

He requires proof for one thing and not another.

I'd call that a double standard.

mythravere

Tiredofit demonstrates his hypocrisy rather well with that statement.

Tiredofit says the "lack" of evidence proves that there is not global warming.

He insinuates that those who do believe it are basing their beliefs on what others are saying and that those same people have made climate change a religion.

What Tiredofit fails to realize is that his logic can be turn against him.

There's no evidence to support the existence of a Christian god or any god for that matter. Belief in such a thing requires faith. Or in other words believing in something when there is nothing there to suggest that it is true.

You simply believe because you want to believe it.

Tiredofit said, "I almost pity you Myth, if not for your arrogant ignorance I would.. What you fail to understand is that GOD is in charge of all things including the climate of the earth, not Govt nor man.Sad that you search for answers in the wrong place."

Posted 4 days ago. Can you prove this, tired?

Tiredofit has some legitimate beefs. For instance: We in the US should resist losing our independence to the UN over this or any other issue. And some, especially radical enviros and politicians like Al Gore, have over-hyped the issue. And building climate models is an enormously complex task, so some errors have been made. But these concerns shouldn’t make us too fearful to act or tear each other down.

Despite these concerns, the basic science is irrefutable. Excess atmospheric CO2 prevents heat energy from radiating back into space. Relatively small energy changes may cause relatively drastic effects in a balanced system like Earth.

We need to accept climate science and figure out how we’re going to deal with it in a way that preserves our institutions and traditions. Like Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson said, “It’s an engineering problem with an engineering solution.”
