Thankfully, the anti-science propaganda campaign surrounding man-made climate change seems to have lost some of its effect.

Are you seeing storm clouds on the horizon? Two recent studies suggest that the latest anti-science campaign is following its forerunners--the propaganda campaigns attempting to refute science that tobacco causes cancer, that CFC's caused the hole in the ozone layer, and so on—into oblivion. Global warming denial seems to have climbed to a peak in 2010, and global warming acceptance is now climbing. This bodes well for rational public policy.

Sorry my bad Joe. I was thinking of the nickel metal hydride batteries. Not lipo battery packs.

As an aside. The battery and its cost is the problem. I don't know why they can build cars with diesel generators in them. Think diesel locomotives.

Wait a minute I know. Too good of fuel milage for the oil proponents and the fact that it would still be using an oil product for the enviro minded people.

Tiredofit wrote, "The use of fossil fuels... most likely will phase out for the most part."

I agree with that, and I've been preparing for it. I believe it's wise to prepare for changes when you think they're "most likely."

I believe in taking personal responsibility, so I don't wait for government to act when I know change will happen.

Except to say he won't respond to it..lol.

"but they fall short of PROOF"

Please Tired, tell us what you would consider to be proof.

This is interesting. Wonder how that happened? Associated Press September 8, 2014

NAIROBI, Kenya — A snail once thought to have been among the first species to go extinct because of climate change has reappeared in the wild. The Aldabra banded snail, declared extinct seven years ago, was rediscovered on Aug. 23 in the Indian Ocean island nation of Seychelles. The mollusk, which is endemic to the Aldabra coral atoll — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — had not been seen on the islands since 1997, said the Seychelles Islands Foundation.Conservationists are celebrating the banded snail's reemergence.

This is what I got for EVS-Roll to buy a 24KwH Lithium-ION High-Voltage battery for a Fiat 500E which only gets 80 miles for a full charge and if you want it to recharge in over 24 hours, you need to spend another $1,000 for a high speed charges. From EVS-Roll " Li-Ion Recent History

Li-Ion battery packs are reported to cost from around $500 up to $900 USD per Kilowatt hour. On average a 24 kWh battery pack could cost you around $17,000 or so. Some reports suggest that Nissan has managed to manufacture battery packs for the Leaf for about $375 per kWh. That seems low in 2012.

Replacement (installed) cost for the 53 kWh Tesla Roadster batter pack runs around $36,000. That comes to around $679 per kWh.

Ford reports that its 23 kWh packs cost from $12,000 - $15,000: $600/kWh "

And low and behold we have capitalists to thank for some proof I am going to lay down for Tiredofit.

With the highly likelihood that the Arctic Ocean will ice free during the summer months in the future. Shipping companies are already planning routes through that area to CAPITALIZE on the shortcut it would provide shipping companies.

Its becoming increasingly open.

If you don't believe me. Look it up. So you can you the sources that suit you best. LOL!

Joe I don't know where you got that number but I think the batteries run around 3000 to 4000. No where near 15000.

"Just like Algore said the Antarctic ice shelf would be gone by 2014.. .........uh not"

This right here shows how utterly ignorant you are Tiredofit.

Thats not exactly what Al Gore said.

When he said that he was referring to the northern ice cap being ice free..in the summer..in as little as 7 years.

He didn't say it would be. He stated that the models were showing that this could come to place as SOON as it was stated.

It wasn't a for sure thing.

I'm not sure I would be willing to pay over $30,000 for an all electric care, and then replace the battery for over $15,000. It seems the battery is worth more than the car. I wonder what damage that battery does to the environment when it ends up in a land fill?

My analogy?

You're the one who wrote, "The use of fossil fuels... most likely will phase out for the most part."

You won't respond to the implications raised by your own statements?

Posted 601 days ago.

harryanderson

Or perhaps you think it's better not to duck.

Tiredofit, you wrote,

"The use of fossil fuels most likely will become less advantageous as time goes on and they most likely will phase out for the most part."

Do you agree that it's foolish to ignore something that will "most likely" happen?

"Still in want someone to demonstrate provable scientific fact the PROVES mans CO2 output is warming the planet????"

You are hiding behind a question. You act as if no one has attempted to lay the case out for mans role in climate change.

We have and you rejected everything.

Proof can not be given to someone who's prepared to ignore and deny every last shred of it.

This is how you are conducting yourself and it shows full well that you are not interested in any facts.

If that were true, you would post facts....but you don't!

"The use of fossil fuels most likely will become less advantageous as time goes on and they most likely will phase out for the most part. My opinion."

That's what I've been saying. They'll phase out for a number of reasons.

"However the current scare mongering and push for govt takeover is not acceptable to me."

I couldn't agree more, especially about the government takeover. Those of us who oppose a takeover must prepare or own response to the "phase out" you said is "most likely."

It's foolish to ignore a "most likely" future, isn't it?

See you later.

"I have no vested interest in the sale of fossil fuels."

I have a large vested interest in the sale of fossil fuels. So do Exxon-Mobil, BP, and Shell. And we've all accepted that CO2 released into the atmosphere causes global warming.

I told you I wasn't going to waste time looking up when I admonished someone.

I told you I did. Do you believe me?

Tiredofit all I can tell you is that you have actually allow information no matter how much you dislike its meaning..you have to allow it to inform and change your mind.

Acceptance of the truth is the key.

So far no truth has gained any acceptance by you. And I doubt that any will be accepted. Ever.

We've laid the case out for global warming. You've rejected every single thing we have put on the table. And your own position isn't consistent.

So theres that...
