Thankfully, the anti-science propaganda campaign surrounding man-made climate change seems to have lost some of its effect.

Are you seeing storm clouds on the horizon? Two recent studies suggest that the latest anti-science campaign is following its forerunners--the propaganda campaigns attempting to refute science that tobacco causes cancer, that CFC's caused the hole in the ozone layer, and so on—into oblivion. Global warming denial seems to have climbed to a peak in 2010, and global warming acceptance is now climbing. This bodes well for rational public policy.

- The 2013 Atlantic storm season has proved one of the quietest in decades with the lowest number of hurricanes since 1982 and none of them considered 'major', according to insurance broker Willis Re.

2013 Update Atlantic Hurricane Season Outlook: Summary

NOAA’s updated 2013 Atlantic Hurricane Season Outlook continues to call for an above-normal season, with the possibility that the season could be very active. The outlook indicates a 70% chance of an above-normal season, a 25% chance of a near-normal season, and only a 5% chance for a below-normal season.

Tiredofit has posted another in his long series of untrue statements, “…NOAA predicted a VERY active hurricane season as a result of Climate change.”

The NOAA Atlantic hurricane forecast for 2013, issued in May, didn’t mention climate change as a factor.

“Three climate factors that strongly control Atlantic hurricane activity are expected to come together to produce an active or extremely active 2013 hurricane season. These are:

• A continuation of the atmospheric climate pattern, which includes a strong west African monsoon, that is responsible for the ongoing era of high activity for Atlantic hurricanes that began in 1995; • • Warmer-than-average water temperatures in the tropical Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea; and • El Niño is not expected to develop and suppress hurricane formation.”

So despite the fact that NOAA predicted a VERY active hurricane season as a result of Climate change and as it turned out 2013 was amongst the lowest in history for such events, how is weather not climate>>>?????? God you guys are hilarious.

you can bet your arse that if the WEATHER was unseasonably warm or we had a big storm, these morons would be pointing to it as evidence.

“I don't know anyone who thinks one day represents climate.”

So we agree. The weather at a particular time and place doesn’t represent global climate change.

Posted 105 days ago.

I don't know anyone who thinks one day represents climate. But it is part of climate. An unusually cold spell means the average will likely go down. Even our mathematically challenged Warmer can figure that out.

Ithink,

You ask why we distinguish between weather and climate, and write, “This cold weather will be averaged in and called climate.”

Thanks for asking. I’m happy to clear this up for you.

Climate scientists generally consider a 30-year weather pattern a climate trend. That’s about 11,000 days averaged in. So the weather on a particular day represents a minuscule 1/11,000 of the average, and is therefore hardly representative of the climate.

Look at it this way. I decide to turn my cornfield into a hayfield. When I sow it, a few oats get mixed in with the rye, fescue, and clover. One seed out of 11,000 is oats. Later, a guy wants to buy some oats for his horses. I want to sell him my hay. If I tell him I have a field of oats, I would be misrepresenting my hayfield.

In the same way, if we say that one day’s weather represents climate, we’re misrepresenting the climate.

What difference does it make where the cold winds come from? There will always be unexpected changes in the weather.

That is what the wackos don't accept. We can't control or predict what will happen in the future. That is what makes their climate predictions worthless.

Posted 105 days ago.

What is this obsession with the word climate? Climate is made up of weather. Climate means weather. This cold weather will be averaged in and called climate.

The wackos are running out of new terms to use when the old ones are proved wrong.

Wrong doesn't mean " poor" though. Al Gore's predictions for 5 years in the future were proved wrong, but he is still rolling in money. You remember Al, the democrat politician's son, who always left their black housekeeper in the hot car when they dined in restaurants. Yep those same type of democrats who call conservatives "racist". Like Red Fred.

Seriously though. Arguing what you do. Its just a petty political game that you play.

Oh and as for the evidence. Its there you just will not acknowledge it.

Par for the course for dishonest phucks like yourself.

Those cold temps that are inbound are a result of weather.

Bitterly cold temperatures blowing into the Midwest and Northeast in the coming days are likely to set records

By the way Harry how is the weather where you live?

The WEATHER in the MOV may be at record lows today, but the earth’s CLIMATE is experiencing a long warming trend.

“The global average surface temperature rose 0.6 to 0.9 degrees Celsius (1.1 to 1.6° F) between 1906 and 2005, and the rate of temperature increase has nearly doubled in the last 50 years.”

we are experiencing record colds but I realize that means the planet is warming SARCSASIM for those who do not recognize it

If we accept climate science, but reject political agendas tied to it and decide it’s an engineering problem, we can thrive.

Look at it this way: If we can find a practical way to remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere, we can burn fossil fuels. In doing so, we would rob the leftists of their only weapon—fear

Some are doing just that. Two guys have discovered how to turn atmospheric carbon into plastic without putting more carbon into the air than they remove. Their present technology can do very little to solve our problem. But it’s a start.

They already operate “… two factories that take methane captured from dairy farms and use it to make…plastic...”

“’I wish I had been smart enough to figure this out,’ says William Dowd, former global director of industrial biotech research and development at Dow Chemical.”

ww w.usatoday.co m/story/news/nation/2013/12/30/plastic-from-carbon-emissions/4192945/

Now that’s the kind of thinking we need.
