Thankfully, the anti-science propaganda campaign surrounding man-made climate change seems to have lost some of its effect.

Are you seeing storm clouds on the horizon? Two recent studies suggest that the latest anti-science campaign is following its forerunners--the propaganda campaigns attempting to refute science that tobacco causes cancer, that CFC's caused the hole in the ozone layer, and so on—into oblivion. Global warming denial seems to have climbed to a peak in 2010, and global warming acceptance is now climbing. This bodes well for rational public policy.

So according to you Tiredofit man has no role in climate change.

Ok.

Have you ever wondered why they picked climate change as thee issue with which to grab all this control?

"You cannot make a case for man made global warming so now you move to a supply issue as your reason. "

Are your really that f ucking stupid?

I am not using supply as a reason. I'm just wondering why they picked climate change to hoax and not something like fossil fuel scarcity which does have an immediate effect on people when the prices increase.

I am not switching reasons. God dam.

I'll tell you what. I'll play your game.

Lets say mans influence on climate is a cooked up thing,a hoax. Who's supporting data is completely fake.

Why the climate and not something else?

There has to be a reason they picked the climate to be their lynchpin?

Whats that reason.

"You just get dumber, ever heard of the Marcellus shale and Utica shale BOOM happening all around you lol"

Hello where have the biggest and most historical increases in fossil fuels been in the past 10 years?

Oil. I don't see this nation converting all of our ground based transportation needs to gas anytime soon so thats moot.

Oil is a whole nother beast. It runs the world.

" a way of organizing a society in which major industries are owned and controlled by the government rather than by individual people and companies"

Also when you speak of this...I think you have it the wrong way around.

Individual people and companies own the government.

"a way of organizing a society in which major industries are owned and controlled by the government rather than by individual people and companies"

Yea well thats a pure socialist system.

That would never happen. Because greed.

Its individuals using the government for their own gain.

Just take the idea of government as one cohesive entity pull the cover off of it.

Its a bunch of individuals doing things in their best interest.

mythravere

Heres a better question.

This whole thing centers around the use of fossil fuels.

If man made climate change is a hoax with most of the effects way off in the future. Why not use some other means of gaining what the climate change movement is trying to gain.

Like for instance. State that the world is running out of fossil fuels and action needs to be taken to move us off of those fuels and onto renewable ones.

With that issue there is immediate proof that we are getting low on fossil fuels. Look at the increase in prices we have seen.

In other words why use climate as the issue and not something else?

mythravere

What is government? In this day and age it is a bunch of individuals acting in their own self interests. Of course they form like minded groups.

They take issues and use them for their own gain.

Posted 30 days ago.

mythravere

These scientists that you say are just in it for the the funding.

If thats true then all they are doing is working the system for their own gain.

Doesn't matter how honest the method a person can use for making their living is...there is always a sucker that will buy what they have if its wrapped up enough.

Thats a capitalist.

mythravere

"Govt taxation control and regulations are NOT hallmarks of capitalism "

Capitalize:take the chance to gain advantage from.

But people deciding to use something as a means of gaining something else....is what exactly?

People, governments are capitalizing on climate change to gain control, and take other peoples wealth etc.

They are using the climate change movement to their advantage therefore they are capitalizing on it.

“Global warming, climate change, all these things are just a dream come true for politicians. The opportunities for taxation, for policies, for control, for crony capitalism are just immense, you can see their eyes bulge,” he says."

You know what thats called?

Capitalism!

Hey Tiredofit. Care to explain what's causing the weather and environmental phenomenon that points to a planet that is warming? If not caused by man then what natural processes are behind the phenomenon that points to warming?

Posted 30 days ago.

harryanderson

Actually, I agree totally with Dr. Lindzen that we need better models.

Do you think we need better models, Tiredofit?

Posted 30 days ago.

harryanderson

So, Tiredofit,

Do you accept that CO2 is a greenhouse gas? Will you dare to answer the question this time?

I'm betting you won't.

Posted 30 days ago.

harryanderson

“Essentially everybody agrees.,” including Lindzen.

Oops. There’s more.

, “Dr. Lindzen accepts the elementary tenets of climate science. He agrees that carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas, calling people who dispute that point ‘nutty.’”

htt p://ww w.nytimes.co m/2012/05/01/science/earth/clouds-effect-on-climate-change-is-last-bastion-for-dissenters.html?pagewanted=3&_r=0

harryanderson

And does Lindzen believe CO2 is a greenhouse gas. Absolutely.

“The burning of oil, gas, and especially coal pumps carbon dioxide and other gases into the atmosphere, where they allow the sun’s heat to penetrate to the Earth’s surface but impede its escape, thus causing the lower atmosphere and the Earth’s surface to warm. Essentially everybody, Lindzen included, agrees.”

Essentially everybody agrees.

And this comes from the conservative Weekly Standard

Every time I check one of Tiredofit's sources I find the rest of the story he doesn't want you to know.

About that "noted geologist," from the website of his organization.

"Leighton Steward is a geologist, environmentalist, author, and retired energy industry executive."

ht tp://ww w.plantsneedco2.o rg/default.aspx?MenuItemID=294

Steward doesn't claim to be a climate scientist. He's a geologist who specializes in finding fossil fuels and selling them.

I consider him biased.

About that "author" part. "Sugar Busters" is a diet book.

Posted 30 days ago.

harryanderson

That's 9-0.

BTW: Have you ever found a climate scientist who denies that CO2 is a greenhouse gas?

Posted 30 days ago.

harryanderson

Tiredofit again posts proof that the earth is warming. He posted,, "finally, in attributing warming to man, they fail to point out that the warming has been small, and totally consistent with there being nothing to be alarmed about."

Yes, there has been warming. And yes, the scientists agree it's been relatively small so far.

It's the future they're worried about.

Thanks again for providing evidence that CO2 is a greenhouse gas.
