There is no movement in the United States to kill people in the name of second amendment rights but there is a movement that has murdered 1,200,000 children in the name of women's rights

The silver tongued talking heads on the magic living room box would have us believe that the country is in an uproar over the alleged murders of 26 people at an elementary school in Newtown, CT. An investigation is still pending. But the allegations are flying. Generally speaking, the anti-constitutionalists who don't own guns, have never fired guns and certainly have limited ability to identify them, would be willing to take away one of our most important constitutional right because they believe it would make them more "safe". None of the gun violence in America has been committed in the name of gun rights. Also, keep in mind, these anti-constitutionalists generally are of the same demographic that also believes that murdering 1,200,000 American children in 2012 in the name of women's rights is acceptable.

Myth your basic flaw in reason is your atheist bent. God is in charge and has always been so. Mock as you will but you and I are but tiny specks matter in this universe and there is nothing you or I can do to control the climate. It is arrogant to think otherwise

Do explain to me how the ice age ended. Do you deny that science has shown that the earth goes through cycles of temperature?

Government control isn't the right way of putting it. What are we going to do if the grain growing states suffer a massive prolonged drought? Or the flip side get too much rain?

What if we get persistent destructive storms year after year in say our area?

What I am saying is that no one is making any plans to deal with anything related to climate change and living with the effects of it.

We can unfortunately argue about the cause of it. But not that is happening.

I would like the GOP bring that to the table.

I mean there is so much talk about defending this nation coming from the right but it will be pointless if we are all starving to death.

We have to protect ourselves from food disruptions and disruptions in our water supply. Yet you see hardly anyone on the right talking about that.

Is that because there isn't any well moneyed lobby buy support for it? Like the defense industry?

Myth in the words of a famous lefty "never let a crisis go to waste". While I am not nearly as dumb as you might think, I realize there is always more to the story. The left and the right both attempt to feed us a diet of BS of different flavors however its still crap. When these supposed research folks understand that the grants are based on a predetermined outcome it should come as no suprise that the product reflects that bias.

Well if you aren't anti-science then why in the world are do you think global warming is a scam?

The science surrounding it and in particular the release of millions of tons of carbon into the atmosphere since the industrial revolution and its associated effects just can not be denied if you are honest about it.

Another thing that can not be denied is that there are interests who have a well honed ability to cast doubt on the issue and lots of money with which to do so.

Are you thoughts on global warming the result of such actions?

Myth, I am conservative but not anti science. You are guilty of buying into the talking points ofthe far left. I think global warming is a scam. Is the planet warming? It might be that we are ina natural cycle much like the ones that pulled us out of the ice age.. ever heard of the ice age? I don't think that more Govt control is the answer to any problem real or imagined.

@mythravere

Thank you for being rather calm as of late.

It really makes your posts a more enjoyable read.

The Thank You, Art!!!! Thread at the Marietta Times is quite a hoot.

Let me add that the reason I post is for one thing I like to argue. I am opinionated. I am concerned about my country. But I am also frustrated as heck that there is little that I can do make a difference.

Sure I could vote. But what is the point to doing that when I feel that asides from the local level there is no one worth voting for?

So in a sense these forums on here which have been rather calm as of late are an outlet.

My posts cant reflect what type of person I am. Only thoughts and ideas I have. Some of which never get brought up in conversation outside of here.

I work with some people that are not engaged at all when it comes to the direction of this country. A person like that who is of no opinion makes for a poor choice in debate and your positions and thoughts will find no challenges from them.

I'd really like to know why you see it fit to compromise my anonymity.

If what I say angers you that much then you need to just ignore what I say because apparently you cant handle other peoples opinions.

Opinions I might add that are contained in posts that dont reflect my true demeanor or the totality of my thoughts.

And as far as defense goes Ithink I dont feel we are seeing it take as big a back seat as you think.

But we can't try and spend ourselves into safety by allowing the expansion of this huge defense apparatus who's contractors and suppliers need for there to be a need for their services.

Doesn't it concern you that those entities might be apt to creating a need for their services?

And what about the effects of certain defense methods like the use of drones in creating more of what they are used to kill?

You can not deny that the use of drones might be making some people decide that we are their enemy.

Ithink honestly now how many ideological obstacles is the right trying to put up or keep up in front of people? Like thwarting cleaner energy development. Gay rights. And taking an anti-science stance in regards to climate change.

Business should not be hindered in anyway. But we've seen time and again that they dont care about hurting people to get a bigger payday. So they have to be kept in check to protect people.

J.P. Morgan is a perfect example.

Myth, as I have shown previously, you are a Republican, at least by name. You are an elected official sworn to represent your constituents and uphold the constitution. If you had no intention to uphold the constitution they you deserve nothing less than the punishment of a traitor.

Posted 63 days ago.

That's obstacles.

Also our defense would take it's place of importance again. It is not at all hard to list ways of improving our problems. Obama does not want to.

Posted 63 days ago.

We do not expect you to believe as we do. We expect you to be loyal to the constitution and abiuude by it if you want to reap the benefits of being an American. What conservatives would do for the economy is stop obstructing businesses with idealogical obstaces

Better yet make the case for me to adopt your beliefs.

Tell me why I should view liberals with disgust as you do.

Tell me why I should support policies that rams religious beliefs down peoples throats.

Tell me why I should support education policies like the ones in Texas that seeks to not teach critical thinking skills.

I am betting you'll cop out and say that if you dont understand now you never will.

But by golly you sure take issue to me and others like me not believing as you do.

One would think you'd want me coming over to your side and supporting your cause.

But you just cant sell it can you?

The big question I have is this. Given the ability to do what you feel is necessary to make this country right as you see it.

What would you guys do to make it right?

Since apparently everything liberal is wrong. How would you deal with the policies liberals bring to the table?

How would you deal with the liberal citizens of this country? How would you stop them and the policies they pursue?

Please tell me but I am betting none of you have the backbone to speak honestly on those questions.

The reason I ask that is that when one makes a claim that something is wrong and it shouldn't be done. A solution has to be in mind to deal with it if given the chance.
