There is no movement in the United States to kill people in the name of second amendment rights but there is a movement that has murdered 1,200,000 children in the name of women's rights

The silver tongued talking heads on the magic living room box would have us believe that the country is in an uproar over the alleged murders of 26 people at an elementary school in Newtown, CT. An investigation is still pending. But the allegations are flying. Generally speaking, the anti-constitutionalists who don't own guns, have never fired guns and certainly have limited ability to identify them, would be willing to take away one of our most important constitutional right because they believe it would make them more "safe". None of the gun violence in America has been committed in the name of gun rights. Also, keep in mind, these anti-constitutionalists generally are of the same demographic that also believes that murdering 1,200,000 American children in 2012 in the name of women's rights is acceptable.

Myth, an almighty creator YES. Do you really think YOU are I are the highest form of thought>>>>??? Of course I question my beliefs, as do most sane and rational people. I do know one thing without a doubt as it applies to this subject. GOVT is not the answer to the ills fo the earth. Surrendering freedom and wealth to politicians will not change a thing as it applies to Climate.

As Tiredofit wrote,

"Mock all you will..."

The Bible has some to say about mockers and scoffers, as well, but I won't point them out here. You can look that up yourself.

Tiredofit,

You wrote of Myth’s belief that anthropogenic atmospheric carbon is changing the climate:

“Myth your basic flaw in reason is your atheist bent. God is in charge and has always been so. Mock as you will but you and I are but tiny specks matter in this universe and there is nothing you or I can do to control the climate. It is arrogant to think otherwise.”

Tiredofit, the basic flaw in your reasoning is that the Bible contradicts it.

As I have pointed out, God gave man “dominion…over all of the earth.” (Gen.1:26) The Bible foretells that God will retake dominion when man has made conditions so bad that “no flesh should be saved” were God not to “shorten those days.” (Matt. 24:22) And at that time God will “destroy them which destroy the earth.” (Rev. 11:18)

Clearly God has given man the ingenuity to “destroy the earth.”

I didn't say you had a primitive mind. What I was saying is that religion(most of it anyways) can trace its beginnings back to primitive peoples. People who had little to no understanding of our place in the cosmos.

Have you ever questioned your beliefs. If not. What stops you from doing that? Eternal damnation?

You see I question things and if find them false I don't give them any weight. Additionally if I find myself unable to draw any conclusion I simply suspend any judgement.

An almighty creator? Not enough information to discern the truth. Although there is a whole lot of evidence that points to there not being a creator there is still a lot we dont know and cant know.

When you had in the human need for understanding whats the truth and whats just made up?

Myth how is it I have a primitive mind and you don't. Do tell me how you are so enlightened and I seem to be a neadrathal. We hear the same BS from our leaders yet you have such enlightened thoughts while I wallow in ignorance. Just doesn't sound logical now does it

That occurred naturally. And no I dont deny the earth goes through cycles. But you are just arguing whats to blame for the current climate change. That its happening matters more than the cause.

I think it foolish to think that anything can be done to stop it. That would take world wide cooperation. But if we don't prepare for the potential effects of it we are setting ourselves up for disaster.

We are specks in a vast universe. Its arrogant to think we are some beings special project. That way of thinking being a construct of primitive minds.

Im sure a civilization if it exists across the universe in some other galaxy thinks they are the center of the universe too.

Do explain to me how the ice age ended. Do you deny that science has shown that the earth goes through cycles of temperature?

Government control isn't the right way of putting it. What are we going to do if the grain growing states suffer a massive prolonged drought? Or the flip side get too much rain?

What if we get persistent destructive storms year after year in say our area?

What I am saying is that no one is making any plans to deal with anything related to climate change and living with the effects of it.

We can unfortunately argue about the cause of it. But not that is happening.

I would like the GOP bring that to the table.

I mean there is so much talk about defending this nation coming from the right but it will be pointless if we are all starving to death.

We have to protect ourselves from food disruptions and disruptions in our water supply. Yet you see hardly anyone on the right talking about that.

Is that because there isn't any well moneyed lobby buy support for it? Like the defense industry?

Myth in the words of a famous lefty "never let a crisis go to waste". While I am not nearly as dumb as you might think, I realize there is always more to the story. The left and the right both attempt to feed us a diet of BS of different flavors however its still crap. When these supposed research folks understand that the grants are based on a predetermined outcome it should come as no suprise that the product reflects that bias.

Well if you aren't anti-science then why in the world are do you think global warming is a scam?

The science surrounding it and in particular the release of millions of tons of carbon into the atmosphere since the industrial revolution and its associated effects just can not be denied if you are honest about it.

Another thing that can not be denied is that there are interests who have a well honed ability to cast doubt on the issue and lots of money with which to do so.

Are you thoughts on global warming the result of such actions?

Posted 495 days ago.

Tiredofit

Myth, I am conservative but not anti science. You are guilty of buying into the talking points ofthe far left. I think global warming is a scam. Is the planet warming? It might be that we are ina natural cycle much like the ones that pulled us out of the ice age.. ever heard of the ice age? I don't think that more Govt control is the answer to any problem real or imagined.

Let me add that the reason I post is for one thing I like to argue. I am opinionated. I am concerned about my country. But I am also frustrated as heck that there is little that I can do make a difference.

Sure I could vote. But what is the point to doing that when I feel that asides from the local level there is no one worth voting for?

So in a sense these forums on here which have been rather calm as of late are an outlet.

My posts cant reflect what type of person I am. Only thoughts and ideas I have. Some of which never get brought up in conversation outside of here.

I work with some people that are not engaged at all when it comes to the direction of this country. A person like that who is of no opinion makes for a poor choice in debate and your positions and thoughts will find no challenges from them.

I'd really like to know why you see it fit to compromise my anonymity.

If what I say angers you that much then you need to just ignore what I say because apparently you cant handle other peoples opinions.

Opinions I might add that are contained in posts that dont reflect my true demeanor or the totality of my thoughts.
