Is President Obama too personable on potentially non-political issues?

Whether it's commenting on the Gate's arrest as being "stupid", personally calling Sandra Fluke or commenting on the killing of Trayvon Martin; does Obama set a good precedent for the office of the President to be so personable on issues that do not openly effect the Executive Branch?
