Why did the visit to Marietta by civil-rights leader Jesse Jackson inspire both hope for community leaders who want to help the area's poor, as well as hate-speech from local right-wing reactionaries?

The Reverend Jackson is still upseting local radical right-wing reactionaries who are cheering the current attempts by "Boner", Cantor, Bachmann, McConnell, DeMint, Kyl, Rand Paul, Paul Ryan, and others to undo 45 years worth of reforms like Medicare, Head-Start, Community Action ... In my view, Jesse (who has his flaws just like the rest of use) must be doing something right? I for one will be proud to enlist as a soldier in a new "War on Poverty"!
