Why does Congress sit idly by why the President shreds the rule of law?

"The 1973 War Powers Act, which says if the president does not get congressional authorization 60 days after military action, the mission must stop within 30 days." (Quoted from a CNN article) We are now past the 60 days, but it seems that there is no end in sight for our military involvment in Libya. Our President, who won the Nobel Peace Prize, and campaigned on ending/limiting our warmaking, seems to think that he can establish the seeds of democracy in Libya, by ignoring our own rule of law here in the states. What is worse, is that the Congress as a whole ignores the issue, as does the media for the most part. Our country has become a nation like our founding fathers rebelled against, where laws are decided effectively in secret and unevenly enforced. Since Sept 11, 2001 we have been living in a dictatorship. It is time to let our state of emergency expire, repeal the PATRIOT Act, and restore the rule of law.
