Parade Rewind with...Taye Diggs

Taye Diggs opens up to PARADE about his surprisingly nerdy past, the moment he knew he wanted to become a performer, and the song he and wife Idina Menzel love to sing to their son Walker.

The couple's three-year-old son also inspired Diggs to team up with Kellogg's and Action for Healthy Kids for the Share Breakfast campaign, which aims to put a stop to childhood hunger.

"The causes that I get behind now usually have to do with children. I cry whenever anything deals with kids!" says Diggs, 42.

And now that his hit ABC drama Private Practice has come to a close, the actor is itching to return to the small screen.

"I'm going to start filming Best Man 2 next month, and then I'm going to try to find a TV job. I love doing a series because I don't like traveling, and I like being close to my family," he says.
