Shirley Jayne Welker, 66, of Chillicothe, went home to be with her Lord, Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, in Westmoreland Place, following an extended illness.
She was born June 9, 1948, in Murphy, N.C., to the late Daniel and Emily O'Dell Davis.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 17 years, Phillip A. Welker II of Chillicothe; a son, Matthew (Melissa) Turner of Akron; a grandson, Matthew Turner; a brother, Jan (Beverly) Davis of Scott Depot, W.Va.; a nephew, Nathan Davis of St. Albans, W.Va.; a niece, Jennifer (Brandon) Bloomfield of Dayton; great-nieces, Emily Kistler and Arianna Bloomfield, both of Dayton; step-sons, Philip Welker III of Kingston and Michael (Tina) Turner of Atlanta, Ga.; and step-daughters, Dorlinda (Gary) Sarton of Erbacon, W.Va., and Robin (Chris) Linger of Sutton, W.Va.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Ohio.
