Lewis "Red" Henry Griffin, 75, of Belpre, Ohio, passed away in Columbus, Ohio, on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014.
Lewis was born in Clarksburg, W.Va., on April 22, 1939. He graduated from Kelly Miller High School in Clarksburg and relocated to Belpre, Ohio in 1962.
Lewis retired from Chevron Chemical after 35 years of service. Lewis enjoyed talking to people and "never knew a stranger". He also loved cooking, listening to jazz music, and his favorite hobby, dancing. Lewis was a 50-year member of the Mountain State Lodge #117 I.B.P.O.E. Club of Clarksburg, W.Va., and a member of the Whitman Chapel A.M.E. Church in Belpre, Ohio.
Lewis is survived by son, Eric Griffin (Gisa) of Carrollton, Texas; daughter, Cynthia Griffin (Maria McCarthy) of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Alec and Leah Griffin; sisters, Norma Jameson of Columbus, Ohio, Pamela Howard of Clarksburg, W.Va., Autrice Taylor (Merl) of Fayetteville, N.C., Deborah Bowsman of Salisbury, Md., Florence Devol (Russ) of Boca Raton, Fla., Alice Jones (Steven) of Pocomoke, Md., and Antonia Robinson (Robbie) of Newport News, Va.; close friend and mother to Eric and Cynthia, Loraine Smith; and many cousins, nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

A celebration of Lewis' life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at Woodridge Golf Club, located at 301 Woodridge Drive, Mineral Wells, WV 26150.
