It is with great sadness the family of Evelene "Evelyn" Collins of Parkersburg announces her passing on August 9, 2014.

It is with gladness to announce she is now in Heaven with her husband, where she has wanted to be since his passing in October 2013.

Evelyn was born January 3, 1935, in Wood County, a daughter of the late Clarence "Joe" Braham and Lovie Mae Hamilton Braham. She married the late Richard "Shorty" Collins on November 3, 1954, and devoted her life to take care of her family as a wife, mother of four, grandmother of eight, and great-grandmother of eight. She enjoyed watching her flowers grow and watching/feeding birds.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Shorty" Collins, an infant daughter Kay Collins, sisters Kathy Nicholson and Pat Braham; brothers Jack, Ronnie and Danny Braham.

She is survived by her children, Richard "Alan" Collins, Mike (Michelle) Collins, Ann (Dave) Cottrill all of Parkersburg and Roger (Melinda) Collins of Washington. Grandchildren Dustin (Debbie) Collins, Amy (Jason) Boone, Kandace Collins, Lisa Deem, Zachary Debrular, Jami Debrular, Halley Collins and Madison Collins. Great-grandchildren: Raylee Whited, Peyton Collins, Dade Boone, Jake Boone, Jaelynn Shamblin, Kali Smith, Amelia Deem and Caydon Windom. Sisters Barb Munn, Dot Kiefer, Karen McBryer, Judy Gibbs of Akron, Ohio; Brothers Gary, Eddie and David Braham and very special friends, June and Wilma Sams.

Friends will be received Friday, August 22 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held immediately following visitation at 5:30 p.m. with Shawn Lauderman officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge, a Bird Watch/Refuge Organization of your choice or a planter so the family may have it in remembrance.
