Mary "Carol" Kennedy

Mary "Carol" Kennedy, 84, of Parkersburg, died on Thursday, August 14, at Heartland of Marietta. She was born September 4, 1929, in Grand Haven, Mich., to the late Joseph and Winifred (O'Toole) Roossien.

She is survived by four daughters, Ann Greer (William) of Parkersburg, Jean Kennedy of Follansbee, W.Va., Karen Wolfe (Bob) of Vienna and Katherine Schul (Tim) of Wheeling, W.Va.; two sons, Patrick Kennedy (Vicki) of Triadelphia, W.Va., and Thomas Kennedy of Parkersburg; 10 grandchildren, Sean Greer (Maggi), Adam Greer (Megan), Abigail Esguerra (Doug), Amelia Wolfe, Charles Wolfe (Hiatt), Joseph Wolfe, Stephanie Schul, Matthew Schul, Ashlie Taylor, and Tyler Kennedy; 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Fettig (Ken) of Mason, Mich.; two sister-in-laws, Susie West (Roy) of North Port, Fla., and Char Roossien of Manistee, Mich.; and one brother-in-law, Arnold Ochs of Traverse City, Mich.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward T. Kennedy; one daughter, Patricia Kennedy; one brother, Joseph Roossien; and one sister, Joyce Ochs.

Carol's children want to thank their mom for teaching them to love, forgive, respect all others, and to live their lives to the fullest in whatever it may be.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to those who assisted in Carol's daily homecare, especially Carin, Tammy and Beverly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carol's name to S&W Resources, Challenged Athletes of West Virginia, and/or a charity of donor's choice.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 18, beginning at 11 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Monsignor Joseph Peterson officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, August 17, from 5-8 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.
