Harry H. Esbenshade, Jr. was born Dec. 3, 1925, in Uniontown, Pa.
He was educated in the Uniontown Public Schools, graduated from Mercersburg Academy and Yale University. He served in the United States Navy and was discharged with the rank of Lieutenant (JG).
Mr. Esbenshade is survived by one daughter, Anne E. Lynde of Richmond, Va.; three sons, Harry H. Esbenshade III of Vienna, W.Va., John S. Esbenshade of Ocala, Fla., and William D. Esbenshade of Denver, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Mr. Esbenshade was retired from his lifelong business, The Mountain Company, and from its several operations which included Tri-State Roofing & Sheet Metal Company in Parkersburg and Charleston, W.Va. Esbenshade continued to operate Ohio Valley Land Company, a real estate investment venture, until his death.
During his career, Esbenshade served as an Officer/Director/Trustee of libraries, health and educational institutions, private companies, business associations and private and public foundations. He supported organizations which serve all ages, such as libraries and parks.
There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 23rd Street, Parkersburg.
