Edward Francis McDonald, 86, of Parkersburg, passed away Aug. 8, 2014, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born Nov. 10, 1927, in Wood County, a son of the late Charles Henry McDonald and Della Elsie (Cline) McDonald.
Ed retired with 19 years service from the O'Ames Company and worked at Plant No. 2. He previously worked for American Viscose, Monongahela Power and Parkersburg Tile. He was a longtime member of 14th Avenue Gospel Mission Church.
Surving is his wife of 63 years, Edith (Daugherty) McDonald; children, Sharon Kay Johnson (Clarence) of Vienna, Roger Lee McDonald (Carole) of Belmont, Judy Ann Currence (Steve) of Parkersburg, Patrick Wayne McDonald (Marilyn) of Mineral Wells, Perry Craig McDonald (Carolyn) of Parkersburg, Pamela J. Cowan (Mark) of Parkersburg, Patricia "Tink" Long (Dave) of Sandyville and Becky J. Tannous (George) of Parkersburg; and two brothers, Rolla McDonald and Jack McDonald of Vienna. He also leaves behind 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Priscilla McDonald; three sisters, Louise Patterson, Lucille Emerick and baby Freda McDonald; two brothers, Lester and Glenn McDonald; and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with his son-in-law, Pastor Dave Long, and Pastor Sean Law officiating. Interment will follow at Big Tygart Cemetery, Mineral Wells. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
