H. Weller Eaton, 74, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away Monday, July 28, 2014, at home after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Athens, Ohio, a son of the late Abner and Beatrice (Weller) Eaton.
He graduated from Parkersburg Catholic High School in 1957 and Ohio University in 1961. He was a founding member of the Parkersburg Catholic High School Boosters. Weller retired from the Bureau of Public Debt. He was an avid golfer with two hole-in-ones to his credit! He was a proud member of Worthington Golf Club and played in the Public Debt League for many years. He was active in Youth Basketball in the area and never missed one of his children's games.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lee Ann (Wires) Eaton; four children, Mary Bea Eaton of Columbus, Ohio, Jimmy Eaton (Jennie) of Pittsburgh, Pa., Beth Ullman (Chris) of Williamstown, W.Va., and Judy Musick (Ron) of Huntington, W.Va.; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Evan and Austin Eaton, Christopher, Tyler and Olivia Ullman and Ali and Ronnie Musick; a sister, Clara Belle Pierce (Dan) of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Parkersburg, with Father John Rice as celebrant. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank Housecalls Hospice and the Camden Clark Oncology Department for their love and care.
As Weller would say before every ball game "Our Lady Queen of Victory pray for us!"
