Jimmy Dale and Janet Bailey Eddy celebrated their 50th anniversary at the Lubeck Civic Center June 21.
The afternoon was a fun-filled day with family and friends, featuring food, a slide show, bouncy house, and Hank Poole as an Elvis impersonator.
The couple were married at the Lubeck United Methodist Church by the Rev. William Eaton on July 10, 1964.
Best man was Delbert Stinson and maid of honor was Barbara Bailey.
He is the son of the late Ronald and Virgie Welling Eddy.
She is the daughter of the late John Albert and Mildred Fleak Bailey.
They are the parents of Kimberlie (Dave), Darren (Allison), and Larry Eddy.
They have seven grandchildren: Cory Dobbins, Carrie, Laura, Haley, Eli and Ava Eddy, with one more on the way, and Contessa Drain.
They have two great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
Since he was in the Army, they started out married life living three years in Germany, three years at Fort Lee, Va., and three years in Lubeck. After building a house near Eli, W.Va., they have lived there for 41 years.
Both were 1962 graduates of Parkersburg High School.
He retired from Jefferds Corp. with 37 years of service.
She worked at Best Photo before the marriage and at Nashua Photo after they returned home.
They were 4-H volunteer leaders for 24 1/2 years with the Lubeck Lucky Clovers 4-H Club, active on the club, county, state and national levels. Both were West Virginia state 4-H All-Stars and were recognized as outstanding leaders at the county and state levels.
As active members of the Fairview United Methodist Church, they volunteer once a month at the Lubeck Christian Community Cupboard, handing out food and clothing to those in need.
The house where this is done was their third home that they rented in Lubeck.
