Robert Bradley, Jr., 81, of Millwood, W.Va., passed away July 17, 2014.
He was born Nov. 25, 1932, in Cairo, Ritchie County, W.Va., a son of the late Russell Robert and Bernice (Nichols) Bradley. His brother, Chip Bradley, also preceded him in death.
He was a 1951 graduate of Cairo High School. He was a Corporal in the United States Army and served with the Military Police in Japan. He was retired from Ravenswood Aluminum and a member of United Steel Workers of America Local #5668. He loved his family, the outdoors, hunting and gardening. He was a founding member of the Silverton Volunteer Fire Department. To know Robert, was to like him. He was honest, hardworking, thoughtful, kind and gentle.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Nancy E. (Haga) Bradley; daughter, Elizabeth C. Boothe and her husband Tom of Millwood; brother, Marvin Bradley of Washington, W.Va.; sisters-in-law, Elaine Bradley of St. Marys, and Pauline Haga of Cairo; three grandchildren, Thomas B. Boothe and his wife Peggy, Christopher S. and Brandon T. Boothe, all of Millwood; and two great-grandchildren, Izzy and Kolton Boothe.
Service will be 1 p.m. today at the Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Ravenswood, W.Va., with Pastor David Sanderson officiating. Graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. at Cairo Masonic Cemetery, Cairo, W.Va., with full military rites. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
