Pauline Mae Whitehair, 97, of Vienna, passed away July 9, 2014, at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born March 10, 1917, in Ritchie County, W.Va., the oldest of seven daughters of the late B. Guy and Minervia "Ella" Gregg Whitehair.
Pauline had worked at Yonkers Manufacturing for 18 years and then retired from Parkersburg Steel. She was a member of Vienna Baptist Church where she had served as a deaconess and member of the Crafters, and used her talents for many projects for the craft Bazaars.
Pauline will be sorely missed by her family, friends and neighbors. Surviving are three sisters, Leoan Swisher of New Milton, Lorrain Beno of Parkersburg, and Mary Agnes Zinn (Vernon) of Midlothian, Va.; 18 nieces and nephews, including Carol Sue Harper, who lovingly cared for her aunt for several years; and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by three sisters, Rhonalda Fisher, Kathleen Toothman and Anna LaVon Ledsome; and one niece and one nephew.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, July 12, at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Dennis Pratt and Rev. Bill Brown officiating. Burial will be at the South Fork Church Cemetery in Doddridge County, W.Va. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today, and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday, July 12, at the funeral home.
