Cora Vannoy Wigal

Cora Vannoy Wigal, 99, of Parkersburg, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.

She was born in Jackson County, W.Va., a son of the late Watson and Arie (Cheuvront) Balderson.

She was a homemaker and worked at Viscose when she was younger. She was a member of the Broadway Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed taking many trips with the 50 plus group. She was a charter member of TOPS local 0141 and KOPS for 34 years and considered the members her extended family.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Digman of Parkersburg and Ellen Fordyce (Paul) of Washington, W.Va.; a foster daughter, Vivian Torneor of Canton, Ohio; a step-daughter, Mary Shaffer; grandchildren, Dianna Wilson Carter, Russell "Rusty" Wilson (Jill), Sam P. Baldwin II (Dee), Karen Hussey (Jerry), David Baldwin (Lorraine), Jake Baldwin, Lynde Baldwin and Ashley Martin; great-grandchildren, Tiffany Freeman (Danny), Brittany Smith (James), Lauren Hussey, Dustin Hussey, Beth Duckworth and Jerrod Baldwin; great-great-grandchildren, Morgan and Brody Smith, Keagan and Cole Freeman, Ivy Duckworth, A.J. and Adia Blanchard and Hunter and Preston Martin; a step-great-grandchildren, Brittany and Jeffrey; special neighbors, Rick and Kay Stanley; and her special friend, Mildred Laughery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell B. Vannoy, who she was married to for 56 years; her second husband, Herbert Wigal, who she was married to for five years; daughter, Mary Lou Baldwin; son-in-law, Fritz Digman; two grandsons, Darin Wilson and Michael Baldwin; two brothers, Dale and Ray Balderson; three sisters, Mamie Welch, Laura Gearhart and Dolly Hartley; and an infant brother.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Harold Eaton officiating. Entombment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday, July 11, at the funeral home.
