Brian McQuillan Burns, 70, of Parkersburg, passed away July 6, 2014, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born Dec. 30, 1943, in Dublin, Ireland, a son of the late George Washington and Alice McQuillan Burns.
He had worked for Murray, Singer, and Tri-State Roofing. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran serving in Vietnam. He enjoyed woodworking and being a handyman working on things around the house.
He is survived by his wife, Shelia M. Burns; children, Stephan Springston (Lisa) and Tressie Springston; grandchildren, Alex, Joshua and John Ryan Springston; brothers, Robert Burns (Carolyn), John Burns (Doris) and Jerry Burns; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Shane Springston; and a brother, Kenneth Burns.
Services will be 3 p.m., Thursday, July 10, at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Jimmie L. Cox, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Two Run Cemetery in Palestine, W.Va., with military rites provided by American Legion Post 15. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until the time of the service, Thursday, July 10, at the funeral home.
