PARKERSBURG - Entries will be accepted until July 9 for the Parkersburg Homecoming Festival 30th annual Teen & Queen pageant, officials said.
The pageant will be held 6 p.m. July 26 at West Virginia University-Parkersburg in the Multi-Purpose Room.
Pageant applications are available by calling Sandy Fisher, pageant director, at 304-615-2674 or from the Parkersburg Homecoming Festival website, parkersburg-homecoming.com
Both pageants are open statewide. The pageant will involve one day of competition with two crowns being awarded.
Also to be named will be four runners-up, a Miss Congeniality and a Miss Photogenic in each division.
The new queen will receive $1,200 and the teen queen will receive $500. Each queen will receive a basket of prizes from across the state of West Virginia.
The competition for all contestants will include a personal interview, interview attire and evening gown. The Top 10 finalists in the Queen Division also will compete in on-stage interview and evening gown.
Queen contestants must be 16 by Jan. 1, 2015, and must not have reached their 22nd birthday before Jan. 1.
Teen contestants must be between 13 and 15 by July 26, the date of the pageant.
The homecoming is Aug. 15-17.
