Larry G. Brissey, 71, of Ellenboro, W.Va., departed this life on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Marietta Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness.
Larry was born November 13, 1942 in Berea, W.Va., a son of the late Charles E. Brissey and Alice Lenora (Sutton) Brissey of Berea, W.Va. Larry was retired after 33 years of working as a chemical operator for E.I. Dupont of Washington, W.Va. and served as a well tender for Denzil Prather for many years. Larry was a proud graduate of Harrisville High School with the class of 1961 and was one of the founding members of the South Fork Hunting Club. He was also a member of the U.S. National Guard 1092nd division, a life member of the NRA, and was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his three sons, Matt Brissey (Julie) of Parkersburg, Mark Brissey (Suzie) of Mineral Wells, W.Va., Jason Brissey and fiancee Jody Smith of Alexandria, Va.; sister, Sharon Springer (David) of Hacker Valley,W.Va.; grandsons, Bo Charles of Mineral Wells and Gage of Parkersburg, and his loving companion of 20 years, Evelyn Northcraft, of Ellenboro.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014, at the Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Berea, W.Va. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
