"The struggle itself towards the heights is enough to fill a man's heart."
That quote came from the philosopher Albert Camus last century. He believed that the end result wasn't the goal of a fulfilled life but the journey itself is. Part of that thinking came from the idea that there was no end goal in existence. Once you died, you were dead.
Now apply that thinking to our nation because let's face it, there is no Heaven for nations. When the USA dies, it's dead and we are most certainly heading down that path. We have become a lazy and intellectually defunct population who has become nothing more than sheep.
Fox News tells you the President is inept and you can't grin fast enough, even though you probably can't decide where he was born at.
Rush Limbaugh decides to put Bowe Bergdahl on trial and find him guilty before the soldier even gets back to the states and you cheer him on. All the while you want Mexico to ignore their own laws just because the American they are holding in their nation is a Marine.
I know there are a lot of people that are not so narrow minded, but why does it seem like we have become a nation that cheers on stupidity? The USA is in a struggle to stay relevant in the world. It never ends until we are dead.
