Mark Leslie Owings

Mark Leslie Owings, 52, of Pennsboro, W.Va., Beech Grove Community, departed this life on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at the family residence, after a 15-month battle with cancer.

Mark was born on Feb. 28, 1962, in Baltimore, Md., the son of Martha "Marty" Owings of Pennsboro, Beech Grove Community, and the late Howard "Bud" Owings.

He graduated from Pennsboro High School with the class of 1980. Mark became a master carpenter after many years working in carpentry. He was a member of Pennsboro United Methodist Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by three brothers, David Owings (Ann) of Fallon, Nev., Tim Owings of Pennsboro, W.Va., Beech Grove Community, and Peter Owings (Lucia) of Brooklyn, N.Y.; nieces, Erika (Dustin) of Ritchie County, Amber of Catonsville, Md., and Adel and Abigail of Fallon, Nev.; and one nephew, Alexander (Cortney) of Warner-Robbins Air Force Base, Ga.

A memorial service for Mark will be held at a future date at the convenience of the family.

McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
