Carroll Lynn Roush, 72, of Parkersburg, loving husband, father and grandfather went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 30, 2014, at Marietta Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born Sept. 21, 1941, in Kanawha County, W.Va., the son of the late Elizabeth Irene Roush and godparents the late Ralph and Rosa Clegg.
Lynn retired from Solvay Advanced Polymers of Marietta, Ohio, where he had over 30 years of service. He was a member of Tri County Worship Center in Rockport where he had served as a deacon and trustee for over 40 years. Lynn loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. One of his favorite hobbies included "junkin."
Surviving Lynn are his three daughters, Kimberly Moore of Parkersburg, Melissa Straight and her husband, Rich, of Concord, N. C., and Angela Hatfield and her husband, Dennis, of Parkersburg; his grandchildren, Emily and Brian Straight and Haley Hatfield; and a step-granddaughter, Jordan Blair.
In addition to his mother and godparents, Lynn was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Carolyn Bennett Roush, whom he married Sept. 2, 1961.
The funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Tri County Worship Center at Rockport, with Pastors Everett Snyder and Alan Tennant officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and for one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
