M. Maxine McPeek Hutzler

Marie Maxine McPeek Hutzler, 88, of Parkersburg passed away May 28, 2014 at the Arbors of Marietta, Ohio. She was born in Wood County, the daughter of the late Charles and Bessie Horner McPeek.

She graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1943 and received nurses training at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital up until the time of her marriage in 1945. Maxine was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting, crossword puzzles, and her beloved cats. She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church.

Maxine is survived by her sons, Charles M. Hutzler II (Kathryn) and James E. Hutzler (Niki), all of Parkersburg; nine grandchildren, Sean Malone (Wendy), of New Jersey, Alisha Clark Fink (Stephen) of Parkersburg, C. Allen Hutzler (Chrissy) of Virginia, Shelby Hutzler Smith (Jeffrey) of Maryland, and Jonathan, Stephen, and Susan Hutzler (fiance Cody Barrett), all of Parkersburg; seven great grandchildren, Alexander Malone of New Jersey, Andrew and Aubriana Fink of Parkersburg, and Genevieve, Judith, Lauren, and Mark Hutzler of Virginia; son-in-law, Philip Mulvaney of Minnesota, and cherished family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles M. Hutzler, two daughters, Judith Ann Hutzler and Rebecca D. Mulvaney; one granddaughter, Erin Malone; one great grandson, Ashton Fink; two brothers, Clair McPeek and James McPeek, and three sisters, infant, Pauline McPeek, Gladys Warfield, and Noami Guinn.

Services will be at noon Saturday at the First Lutheran Church in Parkersburg with the Reverend Ian Reid officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
