Geraldine O. Parsons, 82, died May 22, 2014, at home after an extended illness.
She was born Aug. 5,1931, in Davisville, to the late George W. Hamrick and Dora B. (Deem) Hamrick. She was the wife of the late Kermit D. Parsons.
Geraldine was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. She worked at Keefer Box Factory, Grey Drug Store, Sun Drug Store, FMC Viscose of Parkersburg, till they closed, Corning Glass of Parkersburg, and she worked at DuPont in the Teflon division until she retired.
She is survived by her four sons, Gerald L. Bennett (Diane) of McConnelsville, Roger A. Bennett of Davisville, Rocky O. Parsons of Davisville and Cody D. Parsons (Gretchen) of Petroleum; two brothers, George A. Hamrick (Madaline) of Cedar Grove and Howard Hamrick of Porterfield, Ohio, sister-in-law, Micki Hamrick of Coolville; nine grandchildren; a step-grandchild; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Glen Hamrick.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Leavitt Funeral Home of Parkersburg, with Pastor Darrell Farley officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Evergreen South.
