irgil Warren Edman, 75, of Tanner, W.Va., passed away suddenly on May 8, 2014, in his sleep at home.
He was born Dec. 21, 1938, a son of the late Virgil E. and Ruby P. Edman.
He graduated from Tanner High School, class of 1957. He retired after many years in the oil fields. He was an avid farmer. He attended Tanner Chapel.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Helen Edman; three children, Richard (Gina) Edman of Tanner, Beth (Rodney) Settle of Elizabeth, W.Va., and Eric Edman of Mooresville, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Sarah (Colton) Anderson, David Smith, Miriam Smith, Luke Smith, Jenny Edman, Stephen (Maggie) Settle and Tara (Jayson) Donley; three great-grandchildren, Jacob and Savannah Donley and Archer Settle; a brother, John Edman and his wife, Sharon, with their children, Tom Edman and Kristen (Tom) Oxley, with their children, Jared and Morgan; a sister, Marilyn Sue (Fred) Montgomery; and special friends, Kenneth and Gladys Dykstra of Hewitt, N.J. He also leaves behind several other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Tanner Chapel. Burial will follow in Roseville Cemetery, Tanner. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, and from noon-1 p.m. Tuesday at Tanner Chapel prior to the services.
