Mary Ruth Deem, 89, of Parkersburg, died on Monday, May 5, 2014, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
She was born June 19, 1924, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late John and Rowena (Kelley) Crothers.
Mary worked in the office at both Viscose and American Glass. She was a member of Stout Memorial United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending her free time reading.
She is survived by one daughter, Pamela Dulaney; her husband, Dr. Jack of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sons, Steven Deem and his wife Jeanie of Wheeling, W.Va., and Dr. Stuart Deem and his wife Debbie of Washington, W.Va.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sanford C. "Tom" Deem; and two brothers, Bill and James Crothers.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to Stout Memorial United Methodist Church.
The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Dr. Paul Russell officiating. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at the funeral home.
