Clarence V. Lohr, 96, of Belpre, passed away April 13, 2014, at the Muskingum Skilled Rehabilitation Center in Beverly, Ohio.
He was born in Sistersville, W.Va., Oct. 1, 1917, the son of the late Martin J. and Anna Martin Lohr.
Clarence proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from Union Carbide.
Surviving Clarence are his three children, David Lohr and Linda of Beverly, Ohio, James Lohr and Marti of Niceville, Fla., and Vicki Parrish and Bill of Parkersburg; six grandchildren, Rob Morehead and Sarah Dillon of Parkersburg, Tonja Sowers and Mike of Florida, Michael Lohr and Waltraud "Wally" of Texas, Dana Hillenbrand and John of Montana, Brenda Hendershot and Mike of Beverly, and Eric Heffer and Tiffany of Marietta; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, James Lohr and Clairabell of Belpre. In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Lillian A. Church Lohr; great-grandson, Stephen Gebert; sister, Martha Sanders; and brother, Russ Lohr.
The funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, with Zack Waite officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery of Belpre. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. till the time of the service on Thursday.
