Bryan R. Wilson, 93, of New Martinsville, W.Va., died March 29, 2014, in Wetzel County Hospital, New Martinsville, W.Va.
He was born Oct. 17, 1920, in Ravenswood, W.Va., a son of the late Charles Frederick Wilson and Nelle Bryan Wilson Guinn.
He was president of the Parkersburg High Class of 1939 and trainer with the 1938 State Championship Football Team. He got his start in the banking industry at Union Trust Bank in Parkersburg. Before retirement, he was CEO of Wetzel County Saving and Loan, New Martinsville, and Loan Officer at Doolin Security Savings Bank. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, New Martinsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Wilson; and one sister, Madeline Sneddon.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Eve Wilson; one son, Joseph Wilson of New Martinsville; two daughters, Judy (Jim) Helsel of Lake City, Pa., and Leslie (Marvin) Gay of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a stepsister, Joan Mason, and a stepbrother, Ed Guinn, both of Parkersburg; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 751 Third St., New Martinsville, W.Va., where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor David Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, New Martinsville.
