VIENNA - A national book retailer is scheduled to open a store at Grand Central Mall this summer.
Books-A-Million Inc., one of the nation's leading book retailers, will open the doors of its store in Grand Central Mall in June, according to mall marketing director Katrina Stephens.
Books-A-Million will bring a selection of books, magazines, pop culture gift items, T-shirts and accessories. In addition, a children's section will feature kids books, learning resources, toys and games.

Grand Central Mall officials announced Friday that national book retailer Books-A-Million will be coming to the mall in June. It will be at the current location of Serendypity, a bridal and formal wear business next to Sears, that will be relocating to the south end of the mall.
The new BAM! location will carry the Nook e-readers and other electronic accessories.
"We are thrilled to be able to fill this need for our community," said Stephens. "Our shoppers are consistently expressing their desire to have a book store return to the property, so Books-A-Million is a perfect addition to our mall family."
The Books-A-Million will be on the north end of the mall, in a 3,500-square-foot space next to Sears. Construction will begin mid to late April, with a projected opening sometime in June, Stephens said.
The book store will be moving into the space now occupied by Serendypity, a bridal and formal wear store, in the spot adjacent to Sears.
Serendypity owner Dawn Fox said her store will be relocating to the south end of the mall, between J.C. Penney and Yankee Candle. Fox said the new location will be slightly smaller than her current space, but that will create "a more intimate boutique feel" while still providing the current products and services.
"We will be moving April 6, so probably the second week of April we will be in there" at the new location, she said.
"We hope to not be down at all" with no lost business days. "We're just going to move and continue on," Fox said.
"We are excited that we will soon have a new location to meet the needs of customers in the community of Vienna," Terrance G. Finley, chief executive officer and president of Books-A-Million, said in announcing the new book store. "We are invested in our communities and we know that our new customers will enjoy finding the best in books, toys and tech at our newest location."
The location will offer discount programs for teachers and community organizations as well as community fundraising opportunities.
A grand opening celebrating the new location will be held in June, Stephens said.
Books-A-Million Inc. also sells on the Internet at www.booksamillion.com. The company operates 258 stores in 33 states and the District of Columbia.
Books-A-Million will be the first national book store to open in the mall in nearly two years. The Mid-Ohio Valley has been without a national book retailer since Borders Book and Music closed in 2012.
