Gregory Alan Davis, 55, of Ravenswood, finished his time on this earth at his home in Ravenswood on March 20, 2014.
Greg was born on June 6, 1958, in Clarksburg, W.Va., son of Rebecca Davis and the late George H. Davis II.
He was a beloved son, true love, older brother, good friend, much-loved daddy and cherished Pappy, are how those closest to Greg knew him. He hated peas but loved black licorice. He always enjoyed a game of cards or sharing a laugh with those around him. Days spent playing sports, fishing, golfing, watching the Mountaineers and listening to his grandkids play, are just a few of the ways he chose to spend his life. Greg grew up in the Second Baptist Church of Ravenswood. He was a 1976 graduate of Ravenswood High School and recently worked in the oil and gas industry as an abstractor.
Greg leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Caprice "Caper" Crockett Davis; and three beautiful daughters that were his pride and joy, Jennifer Earnest and her husband, Daniel, of Clayton, N.C., Rachel Alfred and her husband, Dean, of Ravenswood and Jacqueline Katsifis and her husband, Stavros, of Baltimore City, Md. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Annabelle, Lydia and Logan "Gunner" Alfred and Alek and Kira Earnest; and his siblings, Kevin Davis of Ravenswood, Rodney and Pat Davis of Cutler, Ohio, Chris and Rhonda Davis of Ravenswood, Jane Davis of Ravenswood, and Beth and Matt Moore of Cottageville.
He was preceded in death by a brother, George H. (Petey) Davis III; and his father, George H. Davis II.
Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Second Baptist Church, Ravenswood, with Pastor S. R. Parsons Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery. Friends may visit the family from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the church.
