Donna Jean McPeek Burdette, of Dickinson, Texas, passed away on March 13, 2014, after a short and brave battle with cancer.
She was born on July 19, 1947, in Parkersburg, to George Clair McPeek and Betty Stones McPeek.
She resided in Vienna and Parkersburg as a child and young adult.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandparents, Charles and Bessie McPeek and John and Daisy Stones. Surviving is her step-parents, John and Donna Hendricks of Parkersburg; her sons, John Burdette and fiancee Sarah Frankenfield of Dickinson, Texas, and Kenneth Burdette of Parkersburg; brother, John C. (Chuck) McPeek and wife Autumn of Parkersburg; sisters, Deborah Snyder and husband Jim of Delta Junction, Alaska, Maureen Runyon of Parkersburg, and Joyce Armentrout and husband Tim of Parkersburg; along with several nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends that loved her deeply. Also surviving is her faithful companion and friend, her beloved Chow dog, CoCo.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at Pine Drive Baptist Church, 705 FM 517 Road East, Dickinson, Texas 77539 (281) 337-3413.
According to her wishes, she will be creamated. A memorial gathering will be held in Parkersburg at a later date. Friends and family will be contacted with details.
