Jack L. Blair

Jack L. Blair, 77, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at his residence.

He was born July 1, 1936 to the late Ora Hurl and Lenora Gant Blair.

Jack graduated from Wirt County High School with the Class of 1955 and started his career in the Loan Department at the Union Trust Bank on 7th Street, Parkersburg. He started work at the Rig & Reel in 1957 in the mail room. He held various positions with the company and when they were bought out by Walker Parkersburg Textron he became one of their Vice Presidents.

He attended the Massachusetts of Technology and also several classes at Marietta College He retired with Jimmy Harper Construction in Vienna.

He was also a 50 year member of the Masonic Blue Lodge #3 and Nemesis Shrine.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Miller Blair, her daughter, Andrea Miller (Debbie Robinson) both of Cambridge, Ohio; two daughters, Pamela Blair Looney of Vincent, Ohio, Lori Blair Husk of Vienna; five grandchildren, Robin Looney (Rick) Barbour of Westerville, Ohio, Jeffrey Looney of Parkersburg, Lindsay and Kyle Husk of Vienna, Kristopher Robinson-Miller, of Cambridge, Ohio; two great grandchildren, Wyatt and Blake Barbour of Westerville, Ohio; two brothers, Harold Blair of Dayton, Ohio, Paul (Pauline) Blair of Mineral Wells; one half-sister, Janet Riel of Belmont, W.Va.; four brothers-in-law Steve (Lou) Hardman, special brother-in-law Greg Hardman, David Hardman all of Smithville, James (Esther) Miller of Washington, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Denver, Bill, Wayne and Bobby Blair; two sisters, Joann Cox and Eileen Galloway; and mother-in-law, Opal Hardman.

Services will be held Friday, March 14 at 1 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Deb Bolen officiating.

Burial will follow at the Ayers Cemetery in Smithville, W.Va. with Reverend Jim Eakle officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and Friday one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made in Jack's memory to Integrated Community Services, 4200 Emerson Avenue, Parkersburg, WV 26104.
