John C. Butler, 48, of Parkersburg, passed from this life March 3, 2014, after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer.
He was born in Parkersburg, Feb. 23, 1966, the son of the late Robert C. ("Bob") Butler of Parkersburg and Billie Sue Butler of Charlotte, N.C.
He graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1984 and attended ITT Technical Institute and WVU Parkersburg. On May 3, 2002, he married Marie McIntyre Perine, and together they made their home in John's childhood home with their children, Kole Butler and DJ Perine. Previously, he was employed with Chi Chi's and Applebee's restaurants, Alltel and Hi-Vac Corporation. In 2010, John fulfilled his dream of becoming a small business owner and established Better Homes Heating & AC. He loved his job and enjoyed providing service to his many faithful customers.
In addition to his mom, wife, son and step-son, he is survived by sisters, Suzie Butler and Lisa Butler Cox (Doug); and niece, Amy Bell, all of Charlotte, N.C. He also leaves behind numerous friends as well as two very special fur companions, Kitty and Lydia.
At his request, there will be no viewing or service.
Leavitt Funeral Home is assisting the family in preparing a Gather of Friends to be held at a later date.
