"Grandma Bert" Bishofberger

Alberta I. "Grandma Bert" Bishofberger, 90, of Parkersburg, passed away March 2, 2014, at the Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.

She was born in Parkersburg, Sept. 11, 1923, a daughter of the late Clarence A. and Daisy Hendricks Myers.

She was a member of the 19th Street Church of God. She had worked at the Joyful Sound Day Care at the church for several years and was loved by many children.

Surviving "Grandma Bert" are three daughters, Sheila Craven (Jim) of Belpre, Denise Thomas (Paul) of Spring City, Pa., and Jill Carder (Pete) of Parkersburg; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Bishofberger; and one brother, William E. Myers.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Bishop Randell Fusion and Pastor Jimmie Cox officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday, March 6.

The family would like to give special thanks to Susan Clegg (caregiver), and also to the staff of Worthington Manor and Dr. Michael Moses for their care for "Grandma Bert".

The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to 19th Street Church of God Building Fund, 505 19th Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101.
