Harley D. Rood, 61, of Bartlett, died March 1, 2014, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 28, 1953, in Parkersburg, he was the son of Alma Tucker Rood of Coolville, and the late Carl Rood.
Harley had retired as a welder for Chick Masters in Massillon, Ohio. He enjoyed time spent with his friends, square dancing and listening to bluegrass music. He liked to hunt and fish. Harley also was a friend and helper to many in Creston, Ohio, where he had lived for nearly 30 years.
Surviving in addition to his mother, are three sisters, Elizabeth Horton (Butch) of Bartlett, Garnet Kay Lipps (Gale) of Vincent and Garland Fay Smith (Richard) of Cambridge; and a brother, Curtis Rood (Connie) of Coolville. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Gloria Rood of Coolville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; and one brother, Ed Rood.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with the Rev. Art Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Bartlett Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.
