Nettie E. Barnhart

Nettie Elizabeth Barnhart, 94, of St. Marys, W.Va., widow of Wilmer Isaac Barnhart, passed away Feb. 28, 2014, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

Born on July 4, 1919, in Raven Rock, Pleasants County, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Otis Milton and Catherine Kiggans Rea.

She was a faithful member of Raven Rock Methodist Church and sang in the choir. Nettie filled in at the Post Office at Raven Rock and served on the election board for many years. Nettie also cleaned houses and was a member of the Raven Rock Womans Club. She enjoyed knitting, puzzles and towards the end, coloring.

Survivors include her five children, Richard Dean Barnhart, Judy E. (James) Moore, Patricia Lynn (John) Kiggins, Timothy Blake (Debra) Barnhart and Dennis James (Laura) Barnhart; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Edward Rea.

She was preceded in death by her parents; the husband who she was married to from 1936-1995; one son, Robert Lee Barnhart; three sisters; and four brothers.

The family would like to thank Pleasants County Senior Citizens for their care and help with Nettie.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, W.Va., with Pastor Mark Mayfield officiating. Burial will follow in Long Reach Cemetery, Long Reach, north of St. Marys. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 1-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
