Betty Ann DeLong, 82, of Long Bottom, Ohio, formerly of New Matamoras, Ohio, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio.
She was born May 30, 1931, in Washington County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Dewey and Nancy Hays Moore.
Betty was a retired new accounts clerk at the Bank of Ripley and a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William DeLong; a son, Donald Stanley DeLong; three brothers, Eugene, Homer and Gary Moore; and a sister, Hilda Kinney. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann (Mike) Wilson of Long Bottom, Ohio; four grandchildren, William "Eddie" (Michele) DeLong of Ripley, W.Va., Christopher Matthew DeLong of Long Bottom, Josh Angus of Sandyville, W.Va., and Amy DeLong of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Dewey (Shirley) Moore, Jr. of Fly, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, Zach DeLong, Amber DeLong, Jared Angus and Kendra Angus; a great-great-grandson, Grayson DeLong; and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, at Grisell Funeral Home, 37234 Mound Street, Sardis, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, with Rev. David Michael officiating. Interment in Mehrley (Gravel Hill) Cemetery, Fly, Ohio.
