PARKERSBURG - A truck sideswiped a power pole on Gihon Road this morning, knocking out power to an estimated 1,500 south Parkersburg residents.
The incident happened around 9:30 a.m. and closed a section of Gihon Road. First responders were called in to direct traffic at several intersections, but no injuries were reported.
Crews are on scene working to restore power and the Parkersburg Police Department is investigating the incident.

A caller from the Gihon Shopping Plaza said electricity was out at the plaza.
