Jennifer Susan McFarland, a child of God, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 3, 2014, at her home in Florida.
She was born Aug. 29,1965, in Parkersburg, a daughter of James and Mary Bredon of Parkersburg.
She attended Wood County Schools and obtained her nursing degree. Upon moving to Florida, she worked at Palms West Hospital and Medcare Medical.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 18 years, Joseph W. McFarland Jr.; a son, Joseph William Bredon-McFarland of Wellington, Fla.; a daughter, Kathryn F. Yeater (Eric) of Coolville, Ohio; a granddaughter, Isabella Marie Yeater; one brother, James Bredon II (Marilyn); three sisters, Lori Gould (Gregg), Julia Reynolds and Victoria Hartwell (Thomas); three sisters-in-law, Margaret M. Rousseau of Grayson, Ga., Mary H. De Swardt of Paris, France, and Anne El-Bataineh of Vienna, W.Va.; six brothers-in-law, Patrick E. McFarland, Francis J. McFarland and Timothy J. McFarland, all of Parkersburg, John S. McFarland of Shepherdstown, W.Va., Christian De Swardt of Paris, France, and Scott Rousseau of Grayson, Ga.; numerous nieces and nephews; one great-niece and one great-nephew; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Joseph W. McFarland, Jr.; mother-in-law, Mary Jane "Molly" McFarland; nephew, Christopher J. Rousseau; grandparents, Wesley and Gladys Battin, Erie and Pat Bredon; four uncles; and one aunt.
Visitation will be Friday, 1-3 p.m., at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with a short prayer service at 3 p.m. A private graveside service will follow the services.
